He pops around, here and there, and I kinda wish we could get into his head, (I understand why we can't). It casts an eye back to the grand days of country house life, and forward to the way the world was changing in the 1960s in a number of ways - especially in cuisine. Set in 1964, OEE follows the adventures of 22-year-old Meg as she sets off to help her mother run a small hotel in Dorset.

The grumpy love interest remained a bit of a mystery to me, but I enjoyed their slow coming together. But it’s not long before Meg starts having ideas as to what they can do to get more visitors, because close by is a hotel with much more updated facilities. This book follows on from two previous books set in the 1960s and vividly brings to life the beauty of Nightingale Woods Hotel in Dorset. Mum got all staff sorted back in place for sorted 👍to back to both settling up the tables and serving the 50 people today. When Meg arrives the hotel it seems to be stuck in the past (Meg's mother) but she loves a challenge and sets to work. The FMC’s immediate commitment to a hotel that she had no connection to other than her mother employed there just didn’t ring true.

But what really sold this book to me was the romance, the spark between Meg and Justin, and the way their relationship develops throughout the book made my heart sing.Meg hasn't got much professional training, but what she does have is passion, ideas and empathy, which endear her to the staff and guests alike. The owner of the hotel has recently passed away and the son’s of the owner are trying to find a mysterious third beneficiary of the hotel. Of course, there are cameos from the other key characters and it was a treat to learn more about their ongoing lives.

Having already followed the stories of the other two in the previous books in this loose series, I was delighted to learn more about Meg. One Enchanted Evening picks up the story from Katie Fforde's previous books A Wedding in the Country and A Wedding in Provence, this time concentrating on Meg's story. Meg has been interning in London restaurants and has managed to get some good experience, despite the endemic sexism of the time.

The consummate storyteller, adept at captivating audiences will now captivate readers as he whisks them away to worlds of dance, intrigue, high society and scandal… bringing the golden age of dance to life, page by page. Because of the switch, Emile enters later in the film, and "Some Enchanted Evening" is not heard until nearly 45 minutes into the film, while in the original stage version it is heard about 15 minutes after Act I begins.
