There are six different ways to roll a seven, 6 and 1, 1 and 6, 5 and 2, 2 and 5, 4 and 3, and 3 and 4 - making it the most likely roll. The classics included the dog, the thimble, the classic car, the cat, the battleship, the top hat, the wheelbarrow, and the boot. For many, they're the most sought after squares on the board - but Natalie advises avoiding the purple properties. The purse became the eighth playing piece to join the Monopoly family, and it has a bit of an odd history. Over the next 12 months, two more pieces were added: the lantern and the rocking horse to make what is considered to be the ten classic Monopoly pieces [Sources: 1, 2].

We're not suggesting you do this in real life, but Natalie advises players to mortgage themselves to a hilt. The rarest Monopoly tokens are those made from compressed paper and sawdust during the Second World War. The first pieces, from 1935 to about 1938, were made by the Dowst Manufacturing Company, makers of "Tootsietoys. My brother always beat me at Monopoly when I was a kid, but if Horse-Opoly and Monopoly Horse Lovers Edition were around then I would have turned the tables! Instead of changing its design with the times, the Boot has remained the same and is a symbol of both hard work and the riches that can come along with it. This is because this material made the pieces very fragile and they easily broke, hence why they weren't so popular.

Funny moments happen in the horse world every day that normal people would never understand, but equestrians live for. Set in the old part of the city, these ancient buildings have been overtaken by nature, but they’re ready to be reclaimed! Let the tension of hot property markets melt away as you discover a world of flowers, tall grasses and chattering streams. However, the token has a very interesting story, in 1935, 1937, and 1938 a few special sets were made with special tokens pictured further up. These vintage Monopoly game pieces were flimsy and fragile, so they weren’t as popular as the wooden ones.

But once all the property squares have been bought sometimes the best thing is to wait patiently in jail.

There’s no confirmed story for the inspiration for the Monopoly tokens, but the best-accepted theory is that the iron, thimble, and boot represented the hard-working poor, while the top hat represented the rich. A monopoly with three houses on each square is far more valuable with lots of low-rent single property squares. The reason for this change was that the lead and tin mix didn't oxidize and turned black as much as the zinc alloy did. Both were added at the same time and removed in the 50s when the Scottie dog, the wheelbarrow, and the horse and rider were added.Just be aware that a lot of older Monopoly sets aren’t actually worth as much as you might think they are. The thimble was removed when Hasbro held a vote on which tokens people wanted to keep and add to the game. Dowst focused on die-cast toys after the war, so Parker Brothers produced its own pewter playing pieces based on the Dowst originals.
