About this deal

In the spirit of the last stanza of the Black National Anthem, we rise from the past, rooted deeply in the soil of ancestral struggles, to build a home, to claim our space. While you get the big hits on ABBA Gold, the other option offers a more extensive catalogue of ABBA songs. In 2010, the DVD was remastered with six bonus clips, including five "split-screen" versions of the clips to show which improvements were made by remastering the old videos. Included two discs: the original CD (using the 2008 remasters), and a DVD of the video clips, remastered in 2010. The UK saw a 30th Anniversary Edition released in 2004 with a gold-coloured sleeve cover with black writing, rather than the normal black sleeve with gold writing.

My 1999 CD was described as near 'mint' and it certainly looked good, although some careful cleaning was necessary to eliminate minor faults and improve clarity. what a shame they decline to be reunited at least for a live, for one single night to show the world "we are still there ". If ABBA were at such a remove from rock, then how do you explain how "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do," "So Long" and "Honey Honey" sound totally contemporaneous with the campier end of glam (particularly The Rocky Horror Picture Show)?A 4:27 edited version of " The Visitors" was replaced by the original 5:49 version, while an alternate mix of "Lovelight" was replaced by the version originally released in 1979. As a kid, one of the very few "rock" albums my parents had was a cassette copy of Greatest Hits on side one of the tape and Greatest Hits Volume 2 on side two of the tape. The album spent 61 (non-consecutive) weeks in the top 10 and topped the British chart 5 times, most recently for two weeks in 2008 following release of the motion picture Mamma Mia!
